My Return to Copper Mountain

by Justin Phipps:

As we arrived I knew it was going to be awesome… and it was.

The conditions were powder! We were there to get ready for a USASA slope comp but instead we got dumped on and rode new snow and trees all day, and hiked up from the Sierra chair too. Before we really got the day started we went over to the Union Creek area and hopped on the Lumberjack chair. It was my first time on it in five years. On the ride up my dad did a little interview asking questions like what I remember and how excited I was to get off the chair and shred some pow. After a long time of waiting and sitting (it’s a reaaaally slow chair) we finally got off. As we rode down we found some pretty cool stashes (actually it was everywhere) and my dad just sort of did the whole thing with his iPhone. I think he got some good shots. Anyways, going back to Copper was awesome and I will never forget it.
